EOI & CONSENT FORM
Thank you for your interest in joining the TØS Journal editorial committee!
The editorial committee plays an important role in the TØS Journal publishing process by acting as sensitivity readers for the publication.
What does being on the editorial committee involve?
Participation involves:
Thoroughly reading or examining any accepted submissions of written articles, graphic design work, illustrations or photography to be published in TØS Journal.
Completing an article feedback form for each article you review.
Submitting the feedback to the editor directly.
Discussing any content concerns with the editor.
Maintaining the confidentiality of any articles reviewed or the identity of any participants.
Following the publication TØS Journal, you will be asked to partake in a 20-30-minute semi-structured phone interview regarding your experience with the publishing process.
Before partaking in this project, you will need to be vetted using your choice of the following methods:
Vetting Process
If you are currently "out" will need to provide an established work social media account or website. The researcher will send a verification code to the nominated account which you will be asked to email back to the researcher to verify the account as yours.
Sex workers who are not "out" will be vetted through any current membership to peer-only spaces (Facebook groups or sex worker only memberships). Please provide the name of any vetted sex worker only spaces you are involved in.
If you do not have either of the above options please contact us at ruby@tosjournal.com and we can discuss other vetting options.
Payment
There are no costs associated with participating in this research project. This is a voluntary role but you will be paid a nominal fee of $100.
Other important information
TØS Journal is also a part of a PhD research project by sex worker Ruby Summers (pseudonym).
Please read this information carefully. Ask questions about anything that you don’t understand or want to know more about. Before deciding whether or not to take part, you might want to talk about it with a relative or friend.
Being a member of the Editorial Committee and subsequent participation in this research is voluntary. If you don’t wish to take part, you don’t have to.
This project will involve Ruby Summers publishing TØS Journal online and in print as part of a PhD through creative practice. Results will be published and presented as part of Ruby’s PhD. Research data will not be published in TØS Journal, but articles submitted for publication will be.
Do I have to take part in this research project?
Participation in any research project is voluntary. If you do not wish to take part, you do not have to. If you decide to take part and later change your mind, you are free to withdraw from the project at any stage.
Your decision whether to take part or not to take part, or to take part and then withdraw, will not affect your relationship with the researchers or with RMIT University.
